As a two-time Olympian, multiple World, American and NCAA Record Holder, Mike has had the opportunity to work with and learn from the best performance, health, and fitness coaches in the world! During his time on the USA National Team he attained much experience learning know what it takes to perform daily, weekly, and monthly to get the results you are looking for. Mike began his coaching career as a Graduate Assistant for Northwestern University, shortly after graduating Northwestern with a degree in Human Biology. Since then, he has been coaching in various parts of the country while actively competing for the USA National Swim Team.
Some of the coaching institutions he has had the privilege to continue his education and coach include the University of Florida Strength and Conditioning assistant, a technique and competition swimming coach for the Desert Dolphins in Tucson, Arizona, Head Swim Coach for the Malibu Seawolves , and lastly working with the University of Southern California strength and conditioning program for the undergraduate student-athletes. Mike has experience coaching numerous swimmers and athletes on land that vary in age starting at 5 all the way into their 80’s. In addition to coaching certifications through the USA Swimming Association, Mike is also an International Sports and Science Certified Fitness Trainer with 12 years experience working in Illinois, Arizona, and California.
Mike began business relationship and friendship with Chris Mogaddam at Velocity Sports Performance in Brentwood and since then, In conjunction with pool training, Mike has been teaching group fitness classes and offers private training for his athletes. Coach Mike loves to apply the strength gained from the gym into every-day, functional strength. His love for health and passion for fitness thrives in a group environment. Mike is excited to train humans and mold them into superhumans at Double Ops!
